Enderssion post #6

3 endressions I'd like to put on my resume.

1.) Working at a medical research lab
I've brought up this up multiple times, but I think having this multiple times on my resume would look good because it shows that im dedicated to something that is challenging and useful to the world. I was thinking of doing this at Scripps Green Hospital since I have connections there.

2.) SPAWAR
Doing research for my internship could be nice because the name SPAWAR alone is pretty big. I would either want to do chemical based research on the water, or do some kind of engineering based project. My brother has a contact to there so he might be able to set someone up if they were really up for this.

3.) Translational Science
The last internship I could think of is another research internship at Scripps Translational Science Institute. It would look good if someone wanted to get into a science or research field. There are different types of research opportunities here ranging from mental diseases to cancer, it just depends on what you feel like learning. I also have contacts here if anyone is interested.

Endersession post # 5

Different internships offer different things but I"m not entirely concerned with the skills I come away with, more about learning things about a field I'm concerned with.

However if I did have to pick a few skills I'd like to improve on my graphic design skills, because I've been in the high tech system for going on 6 years now and Photoshop and illustrator design has been a big part and I've never gotten good at it. As for this one I'm not sure we'd do this, many places require graphic design for advertising so the possibilities are pretty wide.

I'd also like to get better with power tools, as far as making precise cuts. I suppose an internship in engineering class might work just fine depending on what the project was.

As far as my career, I'd like to improve my research skills. It will be a useful tool in college and medical school. Not necessarily for the purpose of researching something new, but for writing well-informed papers when the time comes. A good place might be Scripps Research Institute in La Jolla were I previously did an internship.
